Spencer girls basketball drops opener to Colby

SPENCER – The Spencer girls basketball team couldn’t hold on to a nine-point halftime lead and dropped its season opener, losing 35-31 to Colby on Tuesday night at Spencer High School.

The Rockets led 22-13 at halftime, but were outscored 22-9 over the final 16 minutes.

Macie Weber had eight points and Nadia King added seven for Spencer.

The Rockets next game is next Tuesday at home against Edgar in a nonconference matchup.
