Columbus softball holds off Augusta

AUGUSTA – The Marshfield Columbus softball team scored four runs in the top of the second to pull ahead for good and held off Augusta 13-9 to win its second game of the season.

Olivia Larson was 3-for-3 with two triples and an RBI, and Victoria Dieringer was 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs for the Dons (2-3, 2-2 Cloverbelt Conference East Division). Both also scored four runs. Haley Orella added a double and three RBIs for Columbus.

Katelyn Walsh allowed 15 hits but walked just two and struck out five to earn the complete-game victory for Columbus.

Brittney Bertrang struck out 12 but walked 16 for Augusta.

The Dons host Owen-Withee at 5 p.m. Monday at the Central Wisconsin Fairgrounds.
