MARSHFIELD – The University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County basketball teams had four players named to the 2014-15 All-Wisconsin Collegiate Conference teams.
Taylor Lynn was the lone Marshfield player named to the All-WCC women’s team after the sophomore helped the Marauders to a berth at the WCC State Tournament. Lynn was among the five players selected to the first team, as voted on by the conference coaches.
Marshfield lost in the state semifinals to UW-Rock County and finished the season with a 12-8 record.
“It was a great season, the ladies showed up ready to work hard and really wanted to win,” Marauders women’s coach Brent Ystad said. “That definitely made the season a lot more enjoyable knowing that the ladies had the drive to win. I was very proud of the team for all the work they put into the season. We continued to improve throughout the whole season.”
Three men’s players from UW-Marshfield/Wood County were named to the All-WCC West Division squad.
Freshmen Joseph Estrict and Derrick Shivers were second-team selections, while freshman Hunter Busse was an honorable mention pick for the Marauders.
Abby Hilbert of UW-Fond du Lac was named Women’s Player of the Year, and Grant Dull of UW-Richland was the Men’s West Division Player of the Year.
