Hot-hitting Rhinelander takes care of Marshfield softball

MARSHFIELD – Rhinelander pounded out 15 hits and scored in four different innings to defeat Marshfield 7-2 in a nonconference softball game Friday at the Marshfield Fairgrounds.

The Hodags (3-2) scored five runs over the first three innings and added two more in the seventh.

Marshfield’s lone runs came in the sixth inning on an RBI groundout by Caitlyn Kozik and an RBI single by Kayla Kluge.

Kluge, Emily Draeger and Mary Kloos each had two hits for the Tigers (4-4).

Kozik suffered the loss, giving up five earned runs in seven innings.

The Tigers return to action Monday at home against Medford.
