Spencer baseball crushes Colby

COLBY – Calvin Lenz allowed just one hit in five innings as the Spencer baseball team routed Colby 17-0 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division matchup Thursday at Colby High School.

Lenz struck out five, did not walk a batter and had a double offensively for the Rockets (6-2, 4-1 Cloverbelt East), who pull into sole possession of second place in the conference.

Colby drops to 4-2 overall and in the conference.

Nate Neumann was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, and Jake Meyers, Mitch Susa and Ryan Busse each added two hits for the Rockets.

Spencer scored 10 runs in the top of the fifth inning to finish off the win via the 10-run rule.

The Rockets play at Gilman on Friday.
