MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield girls soccer team wrapped up its regular season with a 4-0 victory over Wausau East on Thursday at Griese Park.

Olivia Haessly netted her first career hat trick and her sister, Maddie Haessly, provided the other goal for the Tigers, who finish the regular season with a 7-13-1 record overall and a 4-8 mark in the Wisconsin Valley Conference. East ends up 3-11-2 and 3-9 in the conference.

Olivia Haessly scored at the 31:06 mark of the first half and scored 1:42 into the second half to put the Tigers up 2-0.

Maddie Haessly scored seven minutes later and Olivia Haessly added her third goal at the 61:58 mark.

Maureen Cassidy and Julia Urban had assists for Marshfield.

Andrea Carolfi saved all four shots on goal for the Tigers.

“Julia Urban and Maureen Cassidy had numberous crosses and passes tonight that were very pretty,” Marshfield coach Steve Lindner said. “Goals are great for a team not scoring a lot, but the assist means that team is passing and finishing well, and putting the two together is a great piece of teamwork.”

Marshfield is the No. 6 seed in its WIAA Division 2 sectional and will play at No. 3 Ashwaubenon at 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, in a regional semifinal.
