Stratford sophomore Brittney Bredemann, and juniors Lorrie Luepke and Kaylee Geiger were named to the first team on the 2015 All-Marawood Conference South Division Softball Team.

Bredemann, a catcher, was a unanimous first-team pick after finishing second in the conference in batting with a .625 average (25 of 40), five doubles, two triples, a home run, 17 RBIs and 22 runs scored.

Luepke was 6-1 as a pitcher with a 1.91 ERA and 30 strikeouts in 33 innings. She also led the conference with 20 RBIs and batted .400 (16 of 40).

Geiger batted .500 (18 of 36) with 18 RBIs and three home runs for the Tigers, who went 11-1 and tied Marathon for the South Division title this season.

“Brittany’s contributions on both sides were noticed in each and every game this season,” Stratford coach Mandy Pankratz said. “Lorrie was part of our duo on the mound that kept us in every ball game. Kaylee played a great third base for us, making numerous big plays to get out of innings all season long.

“I am very proud of our entire team. As a coach you always wish for more girls to get recognition but that isn’t always the way it goes.”

Senior Dallas Adams and junior Casey Kolbeck were second-team picks, and sophomore Sammy Griesbach and freshman Kiana Weiler were honorable mention choices for the Tigers.

Auburndale sophomore Jenna Ertl was named to the second team, and sophomore Brooke Anderson and freshman Rachael Bolder were honorable mention picks.
