MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Chaparrals amateur baseball team wrapped up the home portion of its schedule with a 7-2 win over the Merrill Rangers in a Dairyland League game Wednesday at Jack Hackman Field.
Ryan Metz threw a complete game, scattering seven hits. He struck out seven and walked four to earn the win.
Alex Steines had a home run and two RBIs, and Justin Rayburn, Luke Wirtz, and Lucious Messerschmidt each had two hits for the Chaparrals (10-5 overall, 8-2 Dairyland League). Wirtz also drove in two runs.
Marshfield will enjoy a 10-day break before returning to action Sunday, July 26, at Westboro.
