SUN PRAIRIE – The Marshfield boys soccer team was shut out for the second day in a row, but were able to squeak out a scoreless tie against Racine Case in the third-place game of the Sun Prairie Invitational on Saturday.

Grant Urban and Ethan Allar combined for the shutout for the Tigers, who lost 2-0 to Waukesha West on Friday in the opening round of the tournament.

“Racine was a good test,” Marshfield coach Steve McCann said. “We tried multiple combinations on the field and learned a lot – what we have and what we need to improve on.”

Marshfield opens its Wisconsin Valley Conference schedule with a home game against Wausau West at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Griese Park.
