WAUSAU – Marshfield had four third-place finishes and took fourth in the team standings at the 2015 Wisconsin Valley Conference Girls Tennis Tournament on Thursday at Wausau East and West high schools.
Ashley Schultz at No. 1 singles, Hanah Gadke at No. 2 singles, the No. 1 doubles team of Olivia Haessly and Kessa Schreiner, and the No. 3 doubles team of Taylor Schneider and Erin Schneider each won third-place matches for the Tigers after losing in the semifinals.
Marshfield ended up third in the overall season standings, which combines points from the six dual meets and the tournament.
Stevens Point swept all four singles and all three doubles titles at the tournament. The Panthers won the overall conference team title for the third season in a row.
Marshfield will compete at the WIAA Division 1 subsectional Monday at Stevens Point.
