Columbus Catholic girls fourth, boys fifth at 2015 Cloverbelt Conference Cross Country Meet

SPENCER – Marshfield Columbus Catholic’s Melanie Lang took 11th in the girls race and Peyton Nystrom was 15th in the boys race to earn all-conference honors at the 2015 Cloverbelt Conference Cross Country Meet on Saturday at Frey Field.

Lang finished 11th in 21:54.91 and Hailey Roehl was 20th in 22:33.27 to lead the Columbus Catholic girls to a fourth-place finish in the team standings.

The Columbus Catholic boys finished fifth, led by Nystrom, who finished in 18:13.49. Benny Frericks also had a top-20 finish for the Dons, taking 19th in 18:26.01.

Chippewa Falls McDonell won the boys team title by just one point over Altoona.

Eau Claire Regis took the girls team title, with Fall Creek second and McDonell third in a tight team race.

The Spencer girls took seventh, led by senior Nadia King, who finished eighth in 21:40.91. The Spencer boys only had four runners. Bobby Pilz led the way, taking 55th in 20:46.77.

McDonell’s Jarrett Jordan (16:56.33) and Thorp’s Falon Immormino (19:50.53) were individual race champions.

Spencer and Columbus Catholic will compete at the WIAA Division 3 sectional on Friday, Oct. 23, at Nine-Mile Forest in Rib Mountain.
