Columbus Catholic boys basketball tops century mark in win over University School

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys basketball team came out flying in its season-opener Friday night at the annual Cranberry Classic, hitting the century mark in a 101-85 victory over University School of Milwaukee at Assumption High School.

Hunter Schultz scored 37 points and Evan Nikolai added 26 for the Dons, who led 50-36 at halftime and continued the torrid pace with 51 second-half points.

Nick Malovrh chipped in 15 points and Tyler Fuerlinger had 12 as four Dons finished in double figures.

Columbus Catholic will play Assumption at 8 p.m. Saturday.
