Marshfield boys basketball whips Milton in opener

FORT ATKINSON – The Marshfield boys basketball team won its season-opener and handed first-year coach Scott Scheuer his first win for the Tigers with an 80-59 victory over Milton on Friday at the Fort HealthCare Classic at Fort Atkinson High School.

Senior guard Tyson Slade scored 21 points, and Adam Fravert and Grant Michaelis each had 12 for the Tigers.

Marshfield jumped out to a 40-22 lead by halftime and led the rest of the way.

The Tigers will play Waukesha Catholic Memorial at 12:15 p.m. Saturday at the tournament, and will open their home schedule Tuesday against Holmen.
