Spencer girls basketball edges Columbus Catholic

MARSHFIELD – Lexi Baehr scored 19 points to help the Spencer girls basketball team beat Marshfield Columbus Catholic 49-47 on Friday night at Columbus Catholic High School.

Columbus led 29-25 at halftime but couldn’t hang on as the Rockets outscored them 24-18 in the second half.

Jess Trad had 12 points and Abby Baierl had eight points and 10 rebounds for the Dons, who fall to 7-9 and 4-7 in the Cloverbelt Conference East Division.

Spencer (8-7, 7-5 Cloverbelt East) made 10 of 14 free throws, while the Dons were 0-for-6 at the line.

Columbus is at Granton on Monday, while Spencer hosts Loyal on Tuesday.
