Columbus Catholic boys basketball suffers first loss of season, falling to Spring Grove (Minn.)

ONALASKA – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys basketball team suffered its first loss of the season, dropping an 83-69 decision to Spring Grove (Minn.) on Saturday at the Minnesota vs. Wisconsin Border Battle at Onalaska High School.

Spring Grove (19-1) charged out to a 41-25 lead by halftime and held on from there.

Tyler Fuerlinger scored 32 points and Hunter Schultz added 21 points for the Dons, who fall to 13-1 with the loss.

Columbus Catholic hosts Colby in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Tuesday. The Dons are 10-0 in the conference and hold a 2½-game lead over Neillsville and are three ahead of Loyal and Owen-Withee with six games remaining.
