Spencer girls basketball rolls past Pittsville

SPENCER – The Spencer girls basketball team topped the 70-point mark for the second time in four games as it rolled to a 72-50 victory over Pittsville in a nonconference game Monday night at Spencer High School.

The Rockets forced 19 turnovers and shot 27 of 66 from the field on their way to the win.

Spencer is now 10-7, while Pittsville drops to 3-15.

Lexi Baehr poured in 24 points, making 8 of 12 shots from the field and 6 of 8 at the free throw line, to lead Spencer. Sydney Kind added 13 points for Spencer.

Jenna Hughes scored 23 points, with seven 3-pointers, for Pittsville.

Spencer hosts Abbotsford for another nonconference game on Tuesday.
