Big second inning pushes Newman Catholic past Auburndale baseball

AUBURNDALE – Wausau Newman Catholic scored eight runs in the second inning and held on from there, beating Auburndale 10-7 in a Marawood Conference South Division baseball game Friday at Auburndale High School.

Newman scored all 10 of its runs in the second and third innings against Auburndale starter Aaron Willfahrt. Only two of the runs were earned.

Auburndale (1-5, 1-4 Marawood South) was held to six hits, two coming from Willfahrt, who also scored twice.

Auburndale will be back in action Thursday at Stratford.
