Stratford softball rips Wittenberg-Birnamwood in WIAA Division 3 regional quarterfinal

STRATFORD – Stratford scored runs in the first four innings and blasted Wittenberg-Birnamwood 11-1 in a WIAA Division 3 softball regional quarterfinal on Tuesday at Hilgemann Field.

The Tigers scored once in the first and busted the game open with four runs in the second and two more in the third. Stratford finished off the game via the 10-run rule with a three-run sixth.

Stratford (16-6) hosts Bonduel (12-10) in a D-3 regional semifinal at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Hilgemann Field.

Lorrie Luepke allowed just three hits and struck out seven to earn the win on the mound for Stratford.

Kaylee Geiger went 3-for-3 with a double, a home run and four RBIs at the plate for the Tigers. Brittany Bredemann added a double, two runs and two RBIs as the Tigers had eight hits in all.
