STEVENS POINT – Stevens Point had single tallies in the second, third and fourth innings and went on to edge the Marshfield Clinic Post 54 Senior American Legion baseball team 3-2 in a Wisconsin Valley Legion League game Wednesday at Bukolt Park.

Marshfield scored twice in the sixth inning, but couldn’t get any closer and it sees its five-game winning streak snapped. The Blue Devils are now 13-4 overall and 4-2 in the WVLL.

Jake Brueggen suffered the loss, giving up six hits and all three runs in four innings. Jack Donahue pitched the final four innings, allowing just one hit while striking out five.

Braden Bohman and Paul Maguire each had two hits for the Blue Devils, who had seven in all. Mitch Susa and Maguire drove in Marshfield’s two runs.

Marshfield is off until July 5 when it plays at Merrill.
