PLOVER – The Marshfield Chaparrals amateur baseball team avenged a loss from a week ago, knocking off the Plover Pterodactyls 10-9 in a non-league game Wednesday night at Memorial Field.
Alex Steines had an RBI single in the top of the ninth to push the Chaps, who are now 8-5 this summer.
Curtis Engelbrecht hit a grand slam home run and finished 2-for-6 for Marshfield. Sam Schwanebeck earned the win on the mound.
Marshfield will play at Abbotsford on Sunday.
