WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Marshfield boys finished third and the girls were 15th at the Wisconsin Rapids Cross Country Invitational on Saturday at the Ridges Golf Course, home of the WIAA state meet in three weeks.
Stevens Point swept the team titles with ease as the boys had two top-five finishers and the girls had four in the top 10.
Jordan Dzikowich was 27th in 17:44.8 and Addison Hill was right behind in 28th, 1/100th of a second later to lead the Marshfield boys. Jared Oemig was 37th in 17:54.2 and Jacob Dick took 38th in 17:55.8 to give the Tigers four in the top 40.
Sophia Schrodi topped the Marshfield girls, taking 44th in 21:31.9.
David Vannucchi of Onalaska Luther won the boys race in 15:47.2 and Kara Pyatskowit of Clintonville took first in the girls race in 18:50.6.
Marshfield will host the Wisconsin Valley Conference Meet on Oct. 15 at Frey Field in Spencer.
