WAUSAU – Marshfield High School senior Ellen Stichert will be a busy girl June 4-5 at the WIAA State Track and Field Championships.

Stichert won the 100-meter hurdles in 15.60 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 47.49 seconds, and was part of the 1,600 relay team that took third place on Thursday at the WIAA Division 1 sectional meet at Wausau East High School.

Stichert will join Alexa Fritsch, Amanda Cousins and Kelsey Weigel in the 1,600 relay at the state meet, as well as competing in the two hurdles events, next weekend at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Sophomores Bisola Omoba and Jeremy Robinson also qualified in individual events for the Tigers.

Omoba was second in the girls 100 meters with a time of 12.59 seconds.

Robinson won the 200 meters in 22.34 seconds and was part of the 400 relay team that included Riley Gebelen, Logan Schmitz and Dan Stanley that finished second in a time of 44.83 seconds.

Robinson, who won the triple jump at the Wisconsin Valley Conference Meet and the Division 1 regionals on Monday, fouled on his jumps and failed to make it to the state meet in that event.

The Marshfield girls finished fourth and the boys took seventh in the team standings. Wausau West won the girls team title and Hudson won the boys championship.
