Owen-Withee uses huge second half to push past Spencer girls basketball

OWEN – Owen-Withee outscored Spencer by 29 points in the second half to whip the Rockets 68-32 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division girls basketball game Thursday night at Owen-Withee High School.

Owen-Withee (2-1, 1-1 Cloverbelt East) led 24-17 at halftime before blowing the game wide open in the second half.

Jennifer Wendler led the way for the Blackhawks with 27 points and 15 rebounds, making 11 of 18 shots from the field.

Spencer struggled shooting the ball, making just 12 of 51 from the field, including missing all seven 3-point attempts, and were only 8 of 20 free throws.

Lexi Baehr led Spencer with 10 points, making 6 of 8 free throws. The rest of the team was just 2 of 12 at the line.

Spencer hosts Gilman on Tuesday.
