Spencer/Columbus wrestling drops opener to Neillsville/Greenwood/Loyal

SPENCER – The Spencer/Columbus Catholic wrestling team opened its 2016-17 season with a Cloverbelt Conference loss to Neillsville/Greenwood/Loyal on Thursday night at Spencer High School.

NGL won 45-24 as the Rockets won just five of the 14 matches, including one by forfeit.

Bryce Shaw eanred a pin at 145 pounds, Hunter Luepke had a pin at 195, and Logan Zschernitz (285) and Carson Hildebrandt (160) won by decision for Spencer/Columbus.

Spencer/Columbus will be competing at the Wausau West Invitational on Saturday.
