STRATFORD – The Stratford STAR Men’s Basketball League began play in its 2016-17 season on Sunday night.
Seven games were held in two divisions. Here is a look at the results:
A Division
*Prudential/Success Realty defeated Victory Apparel 74-53. Cain Trunkel topped Prudential with 21 points, while Ron Klein led Victory Apparel with 18 points.
*US Bancorp beat Smazel’s Hunters Choice 47-40. Chris Murphy had 17 points in the win for US Bancorp. Hunter Busse led Smazal’s with 18 points.
*Nutz Deep II knocked off Financial Strategies 72-50. Nate Lehman had 17 points for Nutz Deep. Jeremy Bulgrin led all scorers with 21 points for Financial Strategies.
B Division
*Kyle Davis scored a league-high 33 points to help Davis Auto to a 61-29 rout of Clyde’s Clubbers. Ben Meyer led the Clubbers with eight points.
*Chaps and Friends whipped Lob City 79-40. Ryan Metz had 21 points for Chaps and Friends. Mike Rindfleisch scored 12 for Lob City.
*Resource Recovery beat LJ’s Sport Zone in the closest game of the night 63-58. Derrick Schmidt had 18 points for Resource. Josh Zimmermann topped LJ’s with 20 points.
*Marshfield Country Club beat Weiler’s Convenience Stores 72-40. David Canavan had a game-high 20 points for MCC. Bowdie Krall scored nine for Weiler’s.
