Stratford boys basketball whips Abbotsford

STRATFORD – Vaughn Breit scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds to help lift the Stratford boys basketball team to a 58-33 victory over Abbotsford in a nonconference game Thursday at Stratford High School.

Stratford (5-2) raced out to a 30-20 lead by halftime and held the Falcons (2-5) to just 13 points in the second half.

Trent Heckel added 13 points and Brenden Fecker added 10 for Stratford.

Stratford was 14 of 17 at the free throw line and Heckel hit three of the Tigers’ six 3-pointers in the victory.

Stratford plays at Edgar on Tuesday.
