Marshfield boys basketball wins at Wausau West

WAUSAU – The Marshfield boys basketball team held off a late comeback to top Wausau West 52-49 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game Friday night at West High School.

The win is the Tigers’ fourth in a row and third straight in the Wisconsin Valley Conference. Marshfield slides into a tie for third place in the conference standings at 3-2 with Wausau West.

Marshfield is now 6-6 overall, while West drops to 6-5.

Ethan Posteluk scored 18 points, and Reed Miller had 10 points and six rebounds for the Tigers.

Marshfield made 17 of 20 free throws in the victory.

Marshfield now has some time off before playing at first-place Stevens Point on Jan. 24.
