Neillsville cruises past Spencer girls basketball

SPENCER – Neillsville held Spencer to just six made field goals and forced 26 turnovers in a 66-17 victory over the Rockets in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Friday night at Spencer High School.

Neillsville shot 56 percent (27 of 48) and made six 3-pointers in the victory as it improves to 16-1 overall and 12-1 in the Cloverbelt East, one-half game behind Loyal in the conference standings.

The loss is Spencer’s seventh straight and it drops to 7-13 overall and 5-10 in the Cloverbelt East. Spencer plays at Colby in its conference final Thursday.

Lexi Baehr led the Rockets with 11 points. No other Spencer player made more than one basket in the loss.
