Spencer girls basketball tips Thorp in overtime to win Cloverbelt crossover

SPENCER – Courtney Buss scored 22 points to lead the Spencer girls basketball team to a 47-44 victory in overtime over Thorp in the Cloverbelt Conference East-West Crossover sixth-place game on Thursday night at Spencer High School.

Buss made 9 of 12 shots from the floor as Spencer (8-14) shot 44 percent overall (18 of 41) and made 3 of 5 from 3-point range in the victory.

The game was tied 41-41 at the end of regulation and Spencer outscored the Cardinals 6-3 in the extra period.

Aeysha Paskert led Thorp (7-15) with 25 points.

Spencer plays at Crivitz in a WIAA Division 4 regional quarterfinal Tuesday.
