Marshfield boys tennis team opens season with win over Menomonie

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield boys tennis team opened its 2017 season with a 5-2 win over Menomonie in a nonconference dual meet Tuesday at Boson Courts.

Marshfield swept the three doubles matches in straight sets, and Evan Fait (No. 1) and Sam Haessly (No. 2) added singles wins for the Tigers.

Haessly needed three sets to beat Bailey Fahl 6-3, 1-6, 6-3, while Fait won in straight sets over Jake Goodman 6-2, 6-3.

Marshfield is off until April 13 when it hosts D.C. Everest in its Wisconsin Valley Conference opener.
