Marshfield girls track win three events, set school record in 1,600 relay at 2017 Wisconsin Valley Conference Indoor Meet

STEVENS POINT – The Marshfield girls won three events and set a school indoor record in the 1,600 relay as it finished fourth at the 2017 Wisconsin Valley Conference Indoor Track & Field Meet on Tuesday at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

Alexa Aumann won the 800 meters in 2:27.65, Stephanie Rhodes took first in the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, and Meg Bryan won the triple jump with a jump of 35 feet, ¾ inch for the Marshfield girls team’s three conference titles.

The Tigers’ 1,600 relay team of Maddie Nikolai, Kaydee Johnson, Gracie Holland and Aumann finished second in 4:18.80, a new Marshfield school indoor meet record in the event.

Holland also finished third in the 60 meters (8.04 seconds) and Bryan was third in the long jump (15-11) for Marshfield, which totaled 90 points, 13 behind third-place Wuasau West. Stevens Point won the team title with 150 points, with D.C. Everest second at 110.

On the boys side, Stevens Point also took first place in the team standings with 182 points. Wisconsin Rapids was second with 104, and Marshfield took fifth with 60.

The Tigers’ top finishes came from Skyler Theisen, who was second in both the 60 hurdles (8.79 seconds) and the 200 hurdles (26.74).

Quinton Alexander was third in the shot put with a throw of 45-5¾ for the Tigers.
