Marshfield boys golf finishes second at home tournament

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield boys golf team hosted a five-team tournament on Tuesday at RiverEdge Golf Course.

The Tigers finished second with a score of 339, behind only Stevens Point’s score of 316.

Evan Thomas of Stevens Point was the meet medalist, shooting a 5-over par 77 in windy conditions to beat teammates Max Bancker and Charlie Okray by one shot.

Derek Michalski tied for fourth with an 81 to lead Marshfield. Brendan Schneider added an 83 to tie for sixth, Zach Hanson was 10th with an 86, Nate Boson fired an 89 to finish 11th, and Joe Kirschnick tied for 13th with a 94 for the Tigers.

Marshfield will compete at the D.C. Everest Invitational at Greenwood Hills Country Club in Wausau on Friday.
