PITTSVILLE – Pittsville scored four times in the third inning and it proved to be enough as the Panthers beat Auburndale 4-1 in a Marawood Conference South Division baseball game Friday at Pittsville High School.
Cam Ertl had Auburndale’s lone RBI, which came in the fourth inning.
Colton Wright had three hits and Cason Schmutzer added two for the Apaches, who had nine in all but could muster only the one run.
The Apaches host Marathon on Tuesday.
