AUBURNDALE – Auburndale had its offense rolling Tuesday as it pounded out 17 hits and cruised past Pittsville 27-10 in a Marawood Conference South Division softball game at Auburndale High School.

The Apaches scored 11 times in the first inning, added seven more in the second, and had eight runs in the third to open up a 26-5 lead through three.

Nine different Auburndale players had hits, seven of which had at least two, and 11 Apaches scored in the win.

Marissa Ponshock was 3-for-3 with three runs scored and three RBIs, and Hannah Bolder and Brooke Anderson each had two hits and three RBIs as well for Auburndale.

Auburndale (7-6, 4-4 Marawood South) plays at Marathon on Thursday.
