SPENCER – The Spencer volleyball team opened its season by dropping all four of its matches at the Spencer Invitational on Tuesday.

The Rockets lost to Chippewa Falls McDonell, Stanley-Boyd, Pittsville and Prentice.

McDonell went 4-0 to win the team title.

Lexi Baehr had 18 kills, Sadie Mercier had six blocks and 41 assists, and Elexa Post had six service aces for Spencer.

“We are a young and inexperienced team this year,” Spencer coach Buff Heller said. “We took our lumps today, but it showed the girls where we need improvement.”

Spencer will compete at the Marathon Early Bird Invitational on Saturday.
