UW-Marshfield/Wood County volleyball opens season with win

MARSHFIELD – The University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County volleyball team opened its 2017 season with a 3-0 sweep of UW-Marathon County on Wednesday at the Marauder Gym.

The Marauders won the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference match 25-18, 25-20, 27-25.

Sierra Litwaitis had 11 assists and three digs, Courtney Schmidt also had three digs, Wendy Rodriguez had a team-high six kills, and Amy Lawrence chipped in eight assists for the Marauders.

UW-Marshfield returns to action with a home match against UW-Rock County at noon on Saturday.
