Marshfield volleyball rallies past Stevens Point in regular-season finale

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield volleyball team wrapped up its regular-season schedule with a comeback victory over Stevens Point 3-2 on Thursday at Marshfield High School.

The Tigers lost the first two games 25-19, 25-16, before rallying to win the final three games 25-20, 25-21, 15-13.

Karly Nikolai had 15 kills, Jordyn Wilcott had nine kills, 17 digs and six blocks, and setter Corianne Johnson had 42 assists, 15 digs and three service aces in the victory.

Madison Nelles added nine kills and five blocks, and Hannah Meverden had a team-high eight blocks for Marshfield.

Marshfield finishes the Wisconsin Valley Conference season with a 5-7 record. Stevens Point moves to 8-3 and finishes its WVC season Thursday at home against Wausau West.

Marshfield will be off until next week when it begins WIAA postseason play. The playoff brackets will be announced later this week.
