AUBURNDALE – The Auburndale football team scored six unanswered touchdowns to blow open a game that was tight after one quarter and blew out Whitehall 56-6 in a nonconference game Friday night at Auburndale High School.
Auburndale led 13-6 after the first quarter before scoring three touchdowns in the second quarter to grab a big lead and never looked back.
Auburndale senior quarterback Ryan Isaacson had his best game of his career throwing for 155 yards and four touchdowns, running for another, and returning an interception for yet another score.
Isaacson hit Colton Yeske for TD passes of 8 and 6 yards, Jacob Peplinski for a 17-yard score and Cale Jacoby for a 15-yard scoring strike. He also had a 15-yard interception return for a score in the second quarter.
Trayton Weister racked up 108 yards on the ground and Peplinski added 101 and a touchdown for the Apaches (5-4).
Auburndale qualified for the WIAA playoffs and will learn its first-round opponent on Saturday.
