Columbus Catholic volleyball rolls past Wild Rose in WIAA Division 4 regional quarterfinal

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic volleyball team won its playoff opener with a 3-0 blowout of Wild Rose in a WIAA Division 4 regional quarterfinal Tuesday at Columbus Catholic High School.

The Dons won 25-7, 25-12, 25-14, to advance to a regional semifinal at home Thursday against Pittsville. The match will start at 7 p.m. Pittsville outlasted Owen-Withee 3-2 on Tuesday.

Annie Baierl had 10 digs and seven service aces, Brooke Neider had 31 assists and 13 digs, Maren Seefluth had 14 kills, and Jessica Jakopin added 13 for the Dons.

Should Columbus win Thursday, it would host a regional final Saturday at 7 p.m. against the Rib Lake-Prentice winner.
