Auburndale girls basketball pulls past Port Edwards in season-opener

AUBURNDALE – Natalie Aue scored 14 points and Auburndale used a big second-half run to defeat Port Edwards 40-28 in the season-opening girls basketball game Tuesday night at Auburndale High School.

The Apaches led 13-11 at halftime before outscoring Port Edwards by 10 in the second half to pull away for the victory.

Hannah Bolder added eight points for Auburndale.

Auburndale opens its Marawood Conference South Division schedule Thursday at Wausau Newman Catholic.
