La Crosse Central stifles Marshfield boys basketball

LA CROSSE – Marshfield was held to just seven points in the first half and couldn’t recover, dropping a nonconference boys basketball game at La Crosse Central 70-41 on Tuesday night.

Central (1-1) pulled out to a 42-7 lead by halftime, sending the Tigers (2-3) to their third-straight road loss.

Reed Miller scored 19 points, including five 3-pointers, and Preston Wagner added nine points for Marshfield.

The Tigers shot just 34 percent (15 of 43) from the field, committed 19 turnovers, and made just 1 of 7 free throws.

Marshfield is off until next Tuesday, Dec. 12, when it plays at Stevens Point in its Wisconsin Valley Conference opener.
