Marshfield wrestling wins title at Neenah Duals

NEENAH – The Marshfield wrestling team went a perfect 5-0 to win the Neenah Varsity Duals on Saturday at Neenah High School.

Marshfield rolled past Racine Horlick 70-6, Manitowoc 60-18, and Campbellsport 60-18, and slipped past Two Rivers 42-36 and Neenah 36-30.

Marshfield had five wrestlers go undefeated at the multi-dual meet.

Freshman Gabe Pugh upped his record to 11-0 this season at 113 pounds. Caden Pearce (145), Nolan Hertel (152), and Bentley Schwanebeck-Ostermann (170) also were perfect at the tournament.

Sam Mitchell (195) and Alex Brost (220) both went 4-1 for the Tigers.

Marshfield hosts Stevens Point in its Wisconsin Valley Conference opener Thursday at 7 p.m.
