Marshfield boys hockey drops home game to Wausau East/Merrill

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield boys hockey team had its four-game winning streak snapped as it dropped a 2-1 decision to Wausau East/Merrill in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game Tuesday night at the Marshfield Area Ice Arena.

East/Merrill (2-6, 1-2 Wisconsin Valley Conference) scored twice in the second period to break open a scoreless game, and held off a late charge from Marshfield (6-6, 0-3 WVC).

Seth Peterson scored with 5:47 remaining in the game for Marshfield to cut the deficit to 2-1, but the Tigers couldn’t get another goal across.

Marshfield plays at D.C. Everest on Thursday.
