Columbus Catholic boys basketball whips Gilman

GILMAN – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys basketball team used a big first half to roll to its seventh-straight victory, a 75-43 win at Gilman on Thursday night.

The Dons ran out to a 43-16 lead by halftime and are now 7-1 overall and 5-0 in the Cloverbelt Conference East Division. Gilman drops to 2-5 overall and 2-4 in the conference.

Eleven different Columbus Catholic players scored in the victory, led by senior guard Nick Malovrh, who scored 28 points. Jarred Mandel added 12 for the Dons.

Columbus Catholic has a week off before playing a nonconference game at Wild Rose on Dec. 28.
