Spencer girls basketball falls short at Wisconsin Valley Lutheran

KRONENWETTER – Spencer mounted a second-half comeback but fell just short, losing a nonconference girls basketball game at Wisconsin Valley Lutheran 53-51 on Tuesday.

Spencer trailed 25-18 at halftime before scoring 33 points in the second half, but falling a basket short of forcing overtime.

Lexi Baehr had 21 points for the Rockets, who fall to 1-9 after losing their ninth-straight game. She now has 998 points in her career.

Cassidy Maroszek had 26 points and Simeon Schult added 21 for the Wolves (5-5).

Spencer plays at Granton on Jan. 9.
