Marshfield girls basketball rolls past Wausau East

WAUSAU – Hannah Meverden poured in 20 points and Jenna Jakobi added 18 as the Marshfield girls basketball team rolled to a 77-34 victory over Wausau East on Tuesday at East High School.

Marshfield shot 56 percent from the field, with Meverden and Jakobi combining to go 16-for-24, as the Tigers were never challenged.

Marshfield (5-6, 2-3 Wisconsin Valley Conference) cruised out to a 38-22 lead by halftime and held the Lumberjacks (3-10, 0-5 WVC) to just 12 points in the second half on its way to the 43-point road win.

Katie Osinski added 14 points and Meg Bryan chipped in 13 for the Tigers.

Marshfield plays at Wausau West on Friday. The game will be broadcast on WDLB-AM 1450 and wdlbwosq.com.
