Marshfield boys basketball blows past Wausau West

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield boys basketball team blanked Wausau West in the first half and rolled to a 55-16 victory in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game Friday night at Marshfield High School.

The Tigers led 25-0 after the first half and kept up the pressure to win by 39.

Marshfield remains in first place in the WVC, improving to 5-1 (7-6 overall). West is now 3-9 and 1-4 in conference play.

The Tigers remain one-half game ahead of Stevens Point for the conference lead, and host the five-time defending Valley champion on Jan. 23 after having the week off next week.

Seth Anderson scored 13 points and grabbed six rebounds, Grant Urban added 11 points and eight rebounds, and Isaac Meverden had nine points for the Tigers.
