Spencer boys basketball edges Colby

COLBY – Spencer outscored Colby by two points in each half to outlast the Hornets 76-72 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division boys basketball game Monday night at Colby High School.

Jack Bezlyk had 31 points and 14 rebounds to lead the way for the Rockets, who improve to 5-5 overall and 4-4 in the Cloverbelt East.

Collin Nieman added 12 points, Austin Bacon had 11, and Nate Karau chipped in 10 for Spencer, which made 20 of 37 free throws as Colby committed 30 fouls.

Sawyer Stuttgen had 22 points for Colby, which remains winless at 0-11 overall and 0-7 in conference play.

Spencer plays at Granton on Friday.
