MARSHFIELD – Marshfield won six events and took the team title at the 2018 Marshfield Boys Track & Field Indoor Invitational on Tuesday at Marshfield High School.
Adam Elhendy-Gunnarsson and Carter Chojancki each won a pair of events for the Tigers, who racked up 130 points to win the team title. Loyal was second with 97.5 points, Stratford finished sixth with 44.5 points, and Auburndale was 11th with 14 points.
Elhendy-Gunnarsson won the 60-yard dash in 6.58 seconds and the long jump with a leap of 20 feet, 3 inches.
Chojnacki took first in the 1-mile run (5:01.92) and the 880 (2:16.02).
In the 880, Chojnacki edged teammates Joseph McKee (2:16.30) and Joshua McKee (2:16.83) by less than one second.
Joseph McKee took fourth (5:12.19) and Joshua McKee fifth (5:20.18) behind Chojancki in the mile.
Caden Pearce won the 440 in 58.66 seconds and finished second in the 220 in 25.87 seconds, and Joey Goettl took first in the triple jump (40-8) and was third in the high jump (5-8) for Marshfield.
Other top finishers from the Tigers were Eric Kabash (second in the long jump, 18-6), Adam Maki (second in the pole vault, 12-0), and Logan Mechler (fourth in the 220, 26.06).
Auburndale’s top individual finish came from Gage Stoflet, who took third in the 440 in 59.46 seconds.
Stratford’s Hunter Hannan had the Tigers’ top-two individual finishes, taking second in the shot put (43-10) and third in the 60-yard dash (6.81).
