Marshfield softball whips Wausau East in doubleheader sweep

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield softball team put up 28 runs in just 10 innings as it swept a doubleheader from Wausau East on Tuesday at the Marshfield Fairgrounds.

The Tigers ended both games in five innings via the 10-run rule, winning 10-0 and 18-2.

Marshfield is now 19-4 overall and 9-2 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference.

Megan Donahue had a perfect game in Game 1, striking out 12 without a walk. She also had a single and a triple, and scored twice.

Emily Draeger, Brianna Jakobi and Jordan Pretsch all added two hits each for Marshfield.

The Tigers put Game 2 away with an 11-run fifth inning as they finished with 19 hits in the game.

Kate Konrardy struck out six in a complete-game effort to earn the win, and also scored a pair of runs for the Tigers.

Donahue had a single, a home run, and three RBIs, Draeger went 4-for-4 with four RBis, and Morgan Norbeck added three hits and scored twice for Marshfield.

Marshfield wraps up its WVC schedule Thursday at home against Wausau West.
